Engineer du jour

On the survey you are doing for your friend Luke to determine what strategy to take on a software rollout for a small company, one of the questions is, "What kind of computer do you have?"

Here is how a non-engineer answers it:

Laptop

Here is how an engineer answers it:

Dell Laptop Latitude D620
T7400 2.16 GHz 2 GB, 32 bit

Have you tried soaking your sandals in water for a couple of hours and then wearing them? Also, I notice that I was not asked to participate in the computer survey, apparently someone knows me so well that he knows I would answer "desktop".

LPC -- are you an engineer? :)

SFgirl, I will try soaking the bands, but I didn't want to get the soles wet because the suede is still plush and nice.

I'm glad Someone knows you so well! And I would like to see some photos of the wedding, please.

I am decidedly NOT an engineer. I majored in Comparative Literature and studied French, Italian, the Renaissance, and epic poetry. Which makes it all the more terrifying that 15 years of work in high tech has altered my essential being so profoundly...

LPC -- nah, your well-rounded liberal arts education has given you the ability to understand and analyze all kinds of thinking, including the engineering mind, which is what has made you so valuable to your employers. Your essential artiness has not been changed; it has been enhanced. Look at all the cool new stuff you know now!

Being married to a computer programmer, the answer to that question would be "Which computer?" We have 4 desktops and 2 laptops. Don't ask me why
