Marriage 101, Lecture 368: In Japan, we piss for accuracy

Last night.

SH: Should we set an alarm?

Photobucket
The clock in question.

Me: Oh yeah. We have tennis in the morning. I can set my clock.

SH: No! Yours isn't accurate enough.

Me: What do you mean? We need to be up at 7:30.

SH: And it might be 7:25 or 7:20. You can't tell. I should set the clock radio.

Me: It's just a few minutes. What's the big deal?

SH: Those are precious minutes I could be sleeping.

I can relate. My husband is working night shifts right now...so I have to stay at home until 7pm to be sure he wakes up because he doesn't trust the alarm clocks...yes, plural!

Oh no! He must be really scared of sleeping through the alarm. You are a good wife to help him out this way.

My former boyfriend, Juanderlust (before I met SH) was a very deep sleeper and had to create systems to make sure he got up. It was especially hard considering he didn't always have the same shift and sometimes had to be at work at 4:30 a.m.
