SH: When you open the upstairs window, you don't do it right.
Me: Why not?
SH: You don't line the crank up with that part.
Me: What part?
SH: I don't know what it's called.
Me: It's not parallel to the window frame?
SH: No! That place -
Me: Oh. You mean that little place where it rests [when the window is closed and locked]?
SH: Yes. You don't line it up. You don't do it right.

If my husband nags me about the way I do something, I like to stop doing it and let him do it better forever and ever.
But sometimes I forget, like yesterday when I moved the clock hand back 2 minutes and then it stopped and I had to confess I changed it. Maybe next time I could put a passive-aggressive note on the clock: "2 minutes slow--please change."
But it goes both ways...I complained to him that he threw the cat litter clumps down in the bottom of the garbage can and I have to hose out the urine smell after every garbage pickup. You think he'll stop cleaning the cat box altogether?
I think my annoyance is bigger than his.
Smalltownmom, I have many times offered to SH that he be in charge of the issue - he can be in charge of scooping the cat box, putting the dishes away, washing dishes. Whatever. He always declines.
